Realistic GB Web Player

Host your Gameboy games on the web with players that look just like the real hardware! Works with mobile and desktop.

This template is an edited version of GB Studio's web build, I did not create the emulator or the web player.

This template includes both DMG Gameboy and Gameboy Color, where the player can choose which console they want to play the game on. If you want to allow only one, there are specific downloads for that.

How to use this template:

• Decide whether you want your game to be on DMG or Color, or both, and download the appropriate template.
• Customise. 
  • Colours: Inside the .css files, colour variables are listed at the top.
  • Fonts: Embed a google font or supply a .ttf file.
  • Images: Edit image files in the "Images" folder. See "README.md" for details.
• insert your ROMs. You'll need two versions, one for Color and for DMG.

The Color version can be a standard ROM export from GB Studio, but to achieve the DMG Gameboy look, you will need to follow these steps.

Building for DMG:

1. GB Studio Project should be in "color + monochrome" or "color only" mode. 
2. Change every palette to one palette with the following colours:

   • ▮▮ #c2bc4a
3. Once you've built your approriate ROMs, they should be renamed to "game.gb" and placed into the "rom" folder of the "DMG" and "Color" folders.
4. Then finally, zip up the contents of the template folder and upload it to itch.io.
